This newsletter is going to give you a closer insight into what County have been up to throughout July, August & September 2024!

Over the past 3 months, we have had the pleasure of awarding Tom Smith, Karl Pearce & Jonathan Knapp employee of the month! Tom Smith is a great dog handler and can always be relied upon for assistance when necessary.
Karl Pearce has worked at County for just under a year as a Duty Controller, and his dedication and hard work certainly doesn’t go unnoticed, dealing with last minute changes and being extremely thorough when on duty. Jonathan Knapp consistently receives good feedback from the client on site and continues to be a great asset to County. Congratulations to Tom, Karl & Jonathan!

County are pleased to announce that we have successfully completed another round of ISO Audits without any non-conformities. This achievement is a testament to the site dedication and efforts of both the office team and all on-site staff in adhering to our quality, health and safety policies and procedures. Congratulations to everyone involved!

County’s team were out in Hastings during July providing our Search and Detection Dogs and Handlers. We provided 4 of our trained and experienced dogs and handlers, for a 3 day festival called ‘Hastings Reggae Festival’. County are the leading UK providing of highly trained and licensed Search and Detection Dog Units for organisations operating in a wide range of sectors. Our search dog units are deployed to a wide range of environments, for example, public events, sporting events and local authorities.

County are delighted to announce that Luke Vincent has been promoted to our new Operations Manager! Luke started his career at County as a Security Dog Handler, in September 2022 and has been an asset to the business throughout his time here. With 10 years previous experience within the industry, Luke has been able to demonstrate his knowledge and skills with his colleagues and we are confident he will continue to make a positive impact on our workforce as their manager. In the short space of time that Luke has been in the new position he has already made a remarkable influence within the business and to his colleagues and staff.

A few of the County team had the joy of net-walking during July with the Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce at ‘The Lost Gardens of Sevenoaks’ hosted by Claire Price. This opportunity gives us a chance to meet new people across all different sectors and interest the into how they can use our services, either now or in the future.

County offer our dogs and their handlers training each month with updated differences, so the dogs and their handlers don’t get used to the same environment. These photos show 2 different types of training our handlers go through with 2 different dogs. General Purpose (GP) Dogs are disciplined canines who are trained to work under a variety of conditions. GP Dogs are versatile working dogs who are trained to perform a variety of tasks, often in roles such as walking alongside their handler. The right side of photos show our NASDU trained search dogs. County’s dogs are trained for searching any sort of drug. A strategy of doing this, as the pictures show, is by having a line of mannequins and placing a drug on one them, and allowing the dog and their handler walk around them. The indication the dog gives the handler when they have found someone is simply sitting down, making their handler aware.

County had the pleasure of hosting our annual Charity Golf Day during September. Hosted by Redlibbits Golf Course, we were able to put on a great day, raising money for an amazing charity named We are Beams. Other than a slight bit of rain, we got very lucky with the weather for the day. We want to thank Scott and Yasmin from LCM Media for capturing the golfers in full swing with their brilliant photography skills!

Across the course of our Charity Golf Day, we had different competitions happening throughout.
So we want to congratulate our winners!
1st – Stuart Eddicott 🥇
2nd – Paul Easter🥈
3rd – Ross Avery🥉
Furthest Drive – Stuart Eddicott 🏌♂️
Closest to the Pin – Kian Pedley ⛳
Wooden Spoon – Luke Vincent, Phil Bouette & Chris Finch West 🕶
Yellow Ball – Stuart Eddicott, Reece Gaffney, Andrew Hubbard & Peter Hubbard 🤝

County had the joy of supporting We are Beams for a second year in a row in September, during our 2024 Charity Golf Day! County have a great relationship with We are Beams, so it was lovely raising money for them this year. Luke Cashin from Beams, done a brilliant job in hosting the auction and raffle. We are Beams is a local charity that supports disabled children and their families in Kent and Medway. Beams was established as a charity in 1996 by a group of parents who believed that they could deliver better support for their disabled child by working together than they were currently getting through the local authority. 25 years on and the charity has grown and now supports at least 450 parents and children one time.
